The residency was at St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, Glasgow where I worked on the theme of
bullying. The triptych I produced consisted of two pupils and a member of staff. The outside panels were a personal response to pupils who suffered from bullying. The centre panel was a figure of authority, to whom pupils could turn for support and advise.
The year long residency
was at Mascalls School,
Kent where my time was
split between the studio,
teaching pupils and
running workshops for the
wider community. The
Macular Degeneration
portraits were produced
during the residency,
resulting in my first major
solo exhibition at The
Mascalls Gallery.
